Carcinogenic

A view on individual susceptibility

As a part of the EU CarcinoGENOMICS project (6th framework program), this study aims at gaining more insight in inter individual variation in humans caused by exposure to carcinogenic substances. Transcriptomic and metabolomic responses are measured in precision cut human liver slices exposed to a number of carcinogens. Also genotoxic damage, cytotoxicity and metabolomic competence are assessed in these slices. Genotyping genes with an apparent distribution in expression after exposure may lead to new polymorphisms.
