Christina Giannakou was born born on 17.05.1988, in Greece. In 2006, she started her Diploma in Biology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. During the diploma studies she studied as an ERASMUS exchange student at the University of Hamburg for 5 months in 2009. She conducted a 4 month diploma internship in LEITAT on the Quality and safety department in 2011. In 2012, she started her master education on the MSc program of Toxicology and Environmental Health at Utrecht University. During the two years of her master studies she conducted two internships; a 9-month project on food allergy at the Immunotoxicology group of IRAS and a 6-month project on Nanotoxicology at the Centre for Health Protection of the National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM).
From September 2014, she is working as a PhD student at Toxicogenomics department of Maastricht University on a project in collaboration with RIVM: “Methods and criteria for evaluating potential immunotoxicity of biotargeted nanomedicines”.
