Wim Van den Hof

Wim Van den Hof was born on 21 September 1984 in Heerlen, the Netherlands. In 2001 he started the study Biology and Medical Laboratory techniques at the technical school in Heerlen. After his bachelor study he worked at the Clinical Chemistry Department of the Academic Hospital Maastricht. In 2007 he started the Master Clinical Molecular Sciences and graduated in August 2009. His MSc thesis was focused on cardiac troponin degradation and the influence on test harmonization.
In October 2009 he started his PhD at the department of Health Risk Analysis and Toxicology of the Maastricht University in cooperation with the Clinical Chemistry Department of the Academic Hospital Maastricht. His PhD project is part of an EU financed project of the Netherlands Toxicogenomic Center entitled “A systems biology approach to predictive toxicology”. He will focus on metabolome and proteome analysis to unravel the effects of hepatotoxic compounds at the molecular and biological pathway level.
